IMSAFE — the pilot fitness check

Six questions about you rather than the aircraft, recorded with your flight and fed into the risk assessment.

IMSAFE is the check most pilots run in their head before a flight: Illness, Medication, Stress, Alcohol, Fatigue, Emotion. Answering it here means it is recorded with the flight — and, more usefully, it means you notice the day you skipped it. That day tends to correlate with the day you should not have.

Nothing is answered for you

Every item starts blank. There is no pre-ticked 'I'm fine' to scroll past, because an answer you did not give should never be counted as a considered one. The risk assessment reads an untouched IMSAFE as not assessed rather than as a pass, and a partly-filled one tells you which questions are still blank.

Flagging something is not failing

If you mark an item as a concern, you have done the difficult part, which is noticing. What you do next is your decision. The tool records the answer and raises it in the risk assessment; it does not stop you doing anything.

This is a self-assessment. It is not medical advice and it is not a determination that you are fit to fly. You are the only person who can answer these questions.
